Hello Beach League fans!
What a fantastic day of beach volleyball action we had on August 7th! The sun was shining, the waves were cheering, and the courts were buzzing with incredible energy and fierce competition. With just one week left in the regular season, teams are bringing their A-game and showing us why this league is the hottest ticket in town. Here’s the lowdown on the matches that had us on the edge of our seats!

🍎 Bad Apples 🍎 vs. Acers 🙌 (Court: North, Late Match)

The Acers came out swinging and swept the Bad Apples in a commanding 3-0 victory (21-9, 21-17, 21-6). From the jump, the Acers' defense was impenetrable and their attacks deadly precise.

• Amelia Campbell dazzled the crowd with her lightning-fast spikes and impeccable court vision. One highlight was her clutch dive save in the second game that turned the momentum.
• Dennis Oskamp showed his versatility, mixing powerful serves with smart placement to keep the Bad Apples guessing all match.
• On the Bad Apples side, Colin Campbell battled hard as captain, orchestrating plays and making some jaw-dropping digs, especially in the tight second game.
• Ella Siegner added some finesse with her sharp sets, but the Acers’ blocking was just too tough.

The Acers’ teamwork and energy were on full display — they look poised to make a deep run in next week’s playoffs!

The Blazing Suns brought the heat in this one — a clean sweep with game scores 21-15, 21-12, 21-7. Their aggressive serves and fast transitions kept the Sandstormers on their toes.

• Justin DAnna was a sunbeam on the court, delivering powerful jump serves and laser-accurate spikes that had the Sandstormers scrambling.
• Kelly-Ann Walsh was everywhere — her hustle and defensive plays saved several crucial points, igniting the Suns' momentum.

🪏 Big Diggers 🪏 vs. Beach Brawlers 🏝️ (Court: South, Late Match)

What a thriller! The Big Diggers edged out the Beach Brawlers in a nail-biting 2-1 match (21-19, 21-19, 13-21). The first two games were so close that every point felt like a mini-final.

• Brad Johnson, captain of the Big Diggers, was a rock. His powerful serves and cool composure at crunch time helped seal those tight first two games.
• Amy Hutchison had some brilliant solo plays, including a crowd-pleasing behind-the-back set that led to a game-winning spike.
• The Beach Brawlers refused to back down — Jamie Deloyer showed her leadership with tough serves and smart plays that kept her team in it.
• Andrew Forbes delivered some monster blocks and timely attacks in the third game to push the match to three games.

Spike Squad proved unstoppable with a clean 3-0 victory over Smash Squad, posting solid 21-14, 21-15, 21-18 wins.

• Alex Caulfield, captain of Spike Squad, led with a mix of quick reflexes and strategic serves that kept Smash Squad off balance.
• Amanda Cummer was a standout with her relentless defense and some jaw-dropping digs that sparked several runs.
• On Smash Squad, John Campbell gave a stellar effort — his precise sets and communication were highlights.
• Joey Rufo showed flashes of brilliance on both offense and defense, keeping Smash Squad competitive.
